Free checks

Self-checks you can take without handing over your email

These are the same standardised questionnaires used in clinics. They run entirely in your browser: no sign-up, no email, nothing sent to a server and nothing stored. You get a score and what it means in plain language.

A screener is not a diagnosis. It can tell you whether something is worth raising with a doctor or therapist — it cannot tell you what you have.

Which one should I take?

If you are not sure, take both — they measure different things and overlap more often than people expect. The GAD-7 asks about worry, restlessness and dread; the PHQ-9 asks about low mood, interest, sleep, energy and concentration. Many people who screen positive on one also screen positive on the other, which is useful information in itself.

What to do with the result

Write down the score and the date. One score is a snapshot; the direction it moves over a few weeks is what a clinician can actually use, and it is far easier to open a difficult conversation with a number and a date than without one.

If you need help right now

Moodify isn't an emergency service. If you're in crisis, or thinking about hurting yourself, please talk to a person tonight. These lines are free, confidential and open around the clock.

If someone's life is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.
